DXF made for machines
Machines follow outlines, so the quality of the paths matters more than anything. Vexorio exports every shape as a closed polyline, which is exactly what cutting and engraving software expects. Units are millimeters (96 px = 25.4 mm), and you can scale the design in your software.
Settings for cutting
- Turn off “Seal gaps between colors” so shapes don't overlap.
- Use Black & white mode for single-color engraving or cutting.
- Raise Remove specks to avoid tiny islands that waste machine time.
- Raise Smoothness for fewer nodes and smoother tool paths.
Every color becomes its own DXF layer, so you can assign cut, score and engrave operations per color.
Image to DXF: FAQ
Which DXF version is it?
AutoCAD R12 ASCII DXF, the most widely supported version. It opens in LightBurn, Inkscape, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, QCAD, CorelDRAW and more.
Are curves exported as splines?
Curves are converted into fine polylines, which every machine and CAM program handles reliably.
Can I get an SVG for LightBurn instead?
Yes. LightBurn imports SVG very well, and SVG is included with every purchase.
